Cyber Now: The Dark Side Of The “Wonderful” Internet (IF 3803)
Feb 2012
Cyber-attacks keep getting more sophisticated and more effective. The number of files stolen, critical infrastructure attacked and prices paid continue to increase. Security is becoming a larger issue, even as more and more services appear to try to meet the need. These services face a cyberrisk world that includes attacks we have placed in four categories: Cyber-Crime, Cyber-Espionage, Cyber-Agitprop and Cyber-Warfare. Some of these activities have always been with us, but they have become more efficient and effective through the digital realm. The world has entered into a Cyber-Race, and similar to the nuclear race, space race and the like, this latest competition will lead to more money and time being spent to “win” and more damage to
victims along the way.
