Employers have expressed the suspicion that their remote and hybrid workers aren’t being productive. Employees suggest that they have proved they can work from anywhere and that being in the office for face-time purposes is a relic of the past. There is a lot at stake as this misalignment gets resolved, including: employee happiness and productivity; the use of office real estate; the viability of office connected businesses; when and where individuals spend their time and money; the funding of urban transportation systems; municipal tax revenues; and which airline routes are profitable.
