It's Not A Bank Problem. It's A Capital Contraction Problem!

The “disease” causing SVB’s reality is NOT a banking issue. It is NOT primarily a mismanagement of investment-issue at regional banks. The “disease” is a progressive contraction of investment capital which caused a chain reaction, landing at SVB’s doorstep. The concentration of customers in the private company and start-up arena made SVB a likely place for the pressure to emerge. But this contraction of investment capital from private companies – and especially private tech companies – is much more significant than an isolated bank mistake.
