This year, the Kingdom is making moves to diversify its economy and create more growth outside the energy industry. These shifts have been paired with a recent and signifi cant restructuring of government ministries. In light of the “Saudi Trifecta” – the Riyadh-led strategy to maintain low oil prices to help get geopolitical containment in the Middle East – the country has decided now is the time for major structural changes to its economic and political norms so that the country can lean less heavily on hydrocarbon production.
