The Axis of Anxiety is at the peak of its influence in the U.S., making its negative effects, as we have written, seem “normal.” That peak of influence, however, faces a gradual remediation in the form of efforts to find a Better Life, the result of individuals finding fundamental solutions (not just coping mechanisms) for life in the New Economy. Such a movement could eventually make the Axis of Anxiety – that is, Uncertainty, Vulnerability and Challenged Identities – start to fade.
